We’ve made it to the end of 2025 y’all (just about). What a year full of SO much. I know many of us are in Christmas mode and then 2026 will be here fast and furiously next week.
As we round out this year, I wanted to send a reminder to check in with yourself and see if you are being heavily influenced on how you should be feeling or into any actions that you should be taking.
From me to you, it’s 100% okay to be authentic to yourself right now, with whatever vibes you genuinely are feeling. You are not under any pressure or any time limit to feel or do anything.
So, when you have a moment to sit with yourself and take a deep breath, ask yourself what is your end of year vibe?
I JUST realized I sent a similar message last December (lol) and it was goood so adding some of those thoughts here again.
REST VIBES
Maybe you’re carrying the weight of this year and you just… need…a moment… to… REST. These last few weeks of the year tend to be a little “it is what it is” and “let’s circle back in the New Year” vibes for everyone. If the world around you is quieting down, even just for a bit, take advantage and rest yourself.
Rest can be sleep. It can be lounging. It can be releasing pressure from a to-do list or routine. It can be a mental rest from all the thinking. It can be releasing control. It can be '‘social’ rest where you get on DO NOT DISTURB with your loved ones and log off the internet. It can be other forms of self-care like warm teas, hot baths/showers, skincare or whatever else makes you physically restful.
Here’s an oldie but goodies REST, BUT FOR REAL love letter.
GRIEF VIBES
Listen, we all are carrying something right now that we haven’t fully grieved from. It could have happened this year or any year before. Maybe this is your reminder to feel your feels, address your pain and process your emotions about losing something. Losing a loved one, a friend, someone you thought would be in your life forever OR LOSING PARTS OF YOUR IDENTITY. It’s okay to feel it.
Sit with it. Feel it. Love on yourself through it. Remembering that whatever you try to suppress in your basement, will only pop up unannounced at some point or another.
You know what helps you process grief? Therapy.
Here’s my mental health tools love letter THIS MATTERS, TOO.
REFLECTION VIBES
I know that this year I shed so much skin, I became a version of myself that I’ve never been before. Life was real, the work was real. Maybe you just want to sit with all your moments that got you to the space you’re in right now. Do you remember all the ways you were exceedingly blessed? What about the moments, people and situations that drained at times? Here are some beautiful questions I saw on IG to help you reflect.
Your Friendships
Who grounded you, supported you and helped you grow this year? How so?
Who do you want to invest more deeply in next year? Why?
Your Energy
Where did your energy actually go?
What drained you?
What replenished you?
Your Goals
Which goals still feel aligned?
Which ones need to be released?
Which ones are ready to evolve?
Your systems
Do your habits support the person you are becoming?
What routines helped you rise?
Which ones held you back?
Your boundaries
Where did you honor yourself?
Where did you abandon your needs?
Where do you need more clarity or space?
Your Joy
What actually brought you joy this year?
What felt forced?
What do you want to bring into your next season?
DREAMING VIBES
If you’re feeling genuinely excited and motivated by “new year, new me” vibes then, here are some tools for creating any goals, visions, desires, wants for 2026.
Get clear about your goals! I like to separate them into life categories. Career, finances, home, travel, body, wellness, mental health, interests, creativity, education, hobbies, romance, friendships, family, self-love, community, collaboration, soul, inner self, faith, practices, spirituality.
What are you trying to do in your next chapter??
The book MANIFEST: THE 7 STEPS TO LIVING YOUR BEST LIFE is the perfect book to kick off anything you want to manifest if you are really about that life.
I love to create digital vision board, here are some Canva templates. Tangible vision boards are great too and writing everything down. Get it out of your brain and somewhere you can see it, feel it, visualize it.
Whatever your vibe is right now, my only prayer is that again, it’s authentic to YOU and not being forced by society, by the pressure of a new year approaching or by another soul. Give yourself permission to be in the space that YOU NEED right now. And whatever it is, you have time. I promise you don’t have to rush anything overnight.
I’m planning to be more conscious about these love letters and get more out in the new year. I am also still writing my life’s chapters over at STORIES BY SHANI (my NY story will be sent shortly as I am celebrating 12 years here this month). Reminder, if you also want to receive those, you can add yourself to that email list below.
Wishing you all the safest, coziest, warmest end of the year season.
