HARD THINGS

“If you have a meaningful pursuit in life, it will never be easy. But you will be able to handle the hard parts, better.”
An on time word for me today from church as I am entering into a season of massive blessings that carry weight and that require effort. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. I’ve been plotting away on how to make my life easier under these new responsibilities but realized today that I’m not really making the tasks at hand easier, but rather applying ways to make handling the hard, better.
I think that some seasons are ‘easier’ or lighter than others, but overall I don’t think life ever gets consistently ‘easy’. Sometimes we think, if I can just do XYZ then life will be easier. Unfortunately, life’s external environment is always going to throw something hard at us. I truly believe we do get better at handling what’s thrown at us.
How can you handle hard, well?
GET IN THE PROPER POSITION
Get UP.
Stand UP.
And eventually, get up and out of your sorrow and sadness.
Even if you can’t stand first right away, lean on something until you can.
Show the world who you are and show yourself who you are.
Wear your power and ability like armor.
GET EQUIPPED
Speak over yourself.
Let go of anything not serving you.
Heal your heart.
Check your mind.
Check your energy.
Meet chaos with peace.
Release anything holding you back.
GET IN PRAYER
Set up a daily prayer practice.
Ask for everything you need and trust in its possibility.
Pray over your voice, over your courage.
If you don’t subscribe to prayer, set up a daily self practice.
Pour words into yourself and the Universe that align with your needs.
ORGANIZE
Use your history.
What helped you in the past - add that.
What made things harder in the past - remove that.
Map out a plan to get through this hard.
I want you to know that you can handle hard things.
And yes, you can cry about it, you can lay down for a second, you can process it. But again, if you have a meaningful pursuit in life and you don’t want to stay knocked down in your misery forever - you’ll have to get UP and use your tools to handle the hard. You absolutely can.
We’re back with the First Sunday Practice next week December 1 @ 7PM ET. RSVP HERE to get the Zoom link and add to your calendar.
Love to your week, happy holiday time.
