This love letter is for anyone out there that has elevation on their spirit and just needs to start already. Maybe you’re just ready for some peace in your life and to regulate your nervous system. TO CHOOSE YOURSELF.
You don’t need more advice. You already know what you need to do and you even probably know the first few steps you need to take. Now, you just need to take them.
No more excuses. No more blaming anything and anyone. You’ve been blocking your own start and can decide right now to GO.
We are FLOODED with advice, everywhere you look. On social media, on YouTube, from influencers and friends and family. Even these love letters that make it into your inbox.
Again, you don’t need any more advice.
I am, however, chiming in with some thoughts that might help you focus today. Last summer, I committed to 6 weeks of self love discipline and consistency. Those 6 weeks turned into 12 weeks then into 6 months and now I am embodying so much of what I started back that as a lifestyle.
If you are ready to start something for yourself, consider committing to 6 weeks of self love through consistency. Sit down this weekend and decide what you want to commit to and gather anything you need to start on Monday (or whenever).
SELF LOVE COMMITMENTS TO CONSIDER
THERAPY - I know I’m a broken record here lol. You know if you really need to go ahead and start this. See this love letter to help with the process.
HEALTH & WELLNESS ITEMS - I made a list of all the things I use consistently, from supplements to snacks to skincare to in-home work out equipment. Build what you need. Consider cutting back on indulgences and drinking.
MORNING/EVENING ROUTINES - it’s how you start and finish. Plan out a healthy morning and/or evening routine to contribute to your health, wellness and nervous system.
MOVEMENT/EXERCISE - maybe you want to get consistent. Find a routine that you don’t hate. To push myself beyond my comfortable exercise limits, I just signed up for a virtual 12 week training program with this trainer.
SPIRIT WORK - add in some spiritual commitments, whether that’s praying, church, virtual spiritual content, astrology practices
GROUND - add in some mandatory nature connections, guided meditations, anything that helps you ground and get out of the past, the future, the hustle. Some ideas.
READ - commit to some books that help keep your mind on track. Here is a collection of books that have changed my life.
BOUNDARIES - during your commitment time frame, hammer down on boundaries with things outside of yourself. That’s work, that’s relationships, that’s connections. If you need to be quieter and less engaged, DO THAT. Boundaries checklist! Preserve energy by reducing scrolling, extra conversations and outings.
MONEY - check in with your relationship with your finances and resources. Here’s a good love letter that touches on that.
USE AI - I know, I know. A lot of us are not about that life. But I recently started using Claude for personal stuff and it’s really very dope. It’s overwhelming when you get too much information overload from AI, but if you target exactly what you need to actually help you with some next steps, it’s so good.
